About Us!

Saint Mary’s College knows girls, their interests, and how they learn! It’s our passion. For 173 years, Saint Mary’s has educated young women to develop their talents to make a difference in the world. We’ve offered camps for girls since 1974. Our summer camps help young women build self-esteem, master new skills, make new friends, and experience the excitement of a college atmosphere.

Campers live in residence halls under the care and protection of counselors, instructors, and professional staff members. Saint Mary’s faculty and staff, as well as regional educators, provide instruction in campus classrooms, laboratories, and studios. Campers eat in the Noble Family Dining Hall, with food prepared by Sodexo, the leading food services management company in North America. Tasty, nutritious, and even gluten-free options are available at each meal. Visit www.saintmarys.edu/Dining for more information.

Parents, here are some things to know:
• Homesickness is a normal reaction to being away from home, but we are ready to help! Our staff is trained to react to homesickness with compassion and empathy. Our counselors help campers focus on exciting camp activities, making new friends, and the fun of the residential camp experience. Remember that going away to camp is a growing opportunity for your daughter. As she gains a little independence, she builds confidence.
• Cell phones are not allowed. Phones can distract campers’ attention away from camp activities, and periodically checking in with parents could make separation anxiety worse. Our staff is dedicated to making this adjustment period as comfortable as possible for everyone involved. If there is an emergency and need to contact your child, just give the camp office a call.
So take a look at what Saint Mary’s College has to offer you this summer. We can’t wait to see you.

Phones

Camps at Saint Mary's have a no-phone policy in place for all campers. Because this may be the first time away from home, some campers may experience separation anxiety. The staff is dedicated to making this period of adjustment as comfortable as possible for everyone involved. The phone policy has been established for the welfare of the entire camp program. Emergency messages will be taken by the camp office or the camp director.

Homesickness

Homesickness may be an issue at camp, especially for those campers who are away from home for the first time. Staff members have been trained to react to homesickness with compassion and sympathy. Our counselors will help homesick campers focus on exciting camp activities, making new friends, and the fun atmosphere of the experience.

Try Out Campus Life

Campers stay in residence halls at Saint Mary's that feature 24-hour desk staff. Counselors live in close proximity to their campers, and a nighttime supervisor is on call and available from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saint Mary's Security staff is available and accessible at all time. Campers may request specific roommates prior to coming to camp at Saint Mary's.

Transportation

Transportation is available from the South Bend Airport if we are notified by June 3. An additional fee is required for this service.
